Back Pain Research
RehWork has undertaken collaborative research with the University of Sydney and the University of Wollongong. The research has been concerned with increasing the understanding of exercise treatment for chronic low back pain. Simple questions such as “the type of exercise” and “the frequency of exercise” for treating chronic low back pain remain unclear. Over the previous 3 years we completed studies comparing trunk muscle function in individuals with and without chronic low back pain. Another study compared the effectiveness of commonly utilised Swiss ball and floor exercises for treating chronic low back pain. Our most recent research compared “core stabilising” exercise to general exercise. The findings are being prepared for publication.
